The Musical Alphabet
There are 12 notes in the musical alphabet
Just like there are 12 months in the year and
Just like the months and the years they too continually
Repeat themselves
Black Notes such as C sharp and D flat (C# and Db) are
only one note, with one sound but two possible names, because the note of C# or Db
is higher in pitch than C and lower in pitch than D.
There is no black note between E and F or B and C
To memorize this you could think of something like
eat Energy Foods (E - F) when Bitterly Cold (B - C)
Or Easter Friday (E - F) - Birth of Christ (B - C)
